Q: How do I use The Twister Fruit Picker®?

A: If you have The Twister Fruit Picker head only to attach to your own pole: It’s as Easy as 1-2-3. The Twister Fruit Picker® is designed to be attached to a threaded pole of your choice. The length of the pole is determined by the height of the tree being picked. A rope with a bungee attached to the end is fastened to the handle end of the pole. Attaching the rope to the pole handle is what makes The Twister Fruit Picker® easy to use. Do not make the mistake of trying to operate the rope with one hand and the pole with your other hand, as the entire concept of easily twisting fruit from the tree would then be compromised. The rope is adjusted by a “rope length adjuster” to put tension on the bungee, which holds the picking rings closed. You target a piece of fruit, open the picking rings by pushing up on the rope, straddle the fruit, release the rope so that the picking circles hold the fruit, and then you use two hands to gently twist the fruit off the tree.

If you have The Twister Fruit Picker with the integrated extension pole: It’s also as Easy as 1-2-3. Extend your pole and adjust the rope tension. Target your fruit, push up on slide handle, place picking rings around piece of fruit, then release slide handle to close picking rings. Now you can use two hands to twist pole and remove fruit from trees.

Q: I have had trouble finding a fruit picker that will pick my peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums or figs without damaging them. Will The Twister Fruit Picker® pick these fruits without damage?

A: Yes. The Twister Fruit Picker® is designed to pick small or large soft skinned fruit, along with most other types of tree fruit. The “Fruit Sleeves” included with The Twister Fruit Picker® allow fruit as small as 1 inch in diameter to be picked quickly, easily and undamaged. The tension on the bungee, which holds the picking rings on the fruit, is adjustable for different types and sizes of fruit.

Q: My fruit is too small and falls through the picking rings. What do I do?

A: Find the “Fruit Sleeves” that came with The Twister Fruit Picker® and slip them over the fruit picking rings. You can now pick fruit as small as 1″ in diameter. If all else fails, for picking cherries or soft fruit like figs, a pair of old socks or nylons slipped over the picking rings will work well.

Q: My “Fruit Sleeves” THAT CAME WITH tHE tWISTER FRUIT PICKER SOMETIMES GET CAUGHT IN THE BRANCHES AND FALL OFF.

A: A twist-tie can be used to tie the “fruit sleeves” to the picking rings. Another option would be to purchase our new and improved “Fruit Sleeves.”

Q: I have always been told that I need to cut my avocados off my tree. Will The Twister Fruit Picker® pick avocados?

A: Customers who have used The Twister Fruit Picker® to pick avocados have said that it works great and does not harm the avocado at all.

Q: My picking rings on The Twister Fruit Picker® won’t hold onto the fruit I pick.

A: Adjust the “rope length adjuster” to put more tension on the bungee to hold the picking rings tighter together. Don’t use more tension than is needed to hold the fruit. If the picking rings aren’t holding the fruit because the fruit is too small, slip the “Fruit Sleeves” that came with The Twister Fruit Picker® over the picking rings.

Q: Why do I have to push so hard on the rope to get the fruit picking rings to open to pick fruit?

A: The bungee is stretched too tight. Adjust the “rope length adjuster” so that there is only about 1″ of stretch in the bungee – or just enough to hold the fruit firmly while twisting from the tree.

Q: I HAVE THE TWISTER FRUIT pICKER® HEAD THAT i ATTACH TO MY OWN POLE. It is hard to hold the picking rings closed by pulling on the rope and twisting the fruit off the tree at the same time. What do I do?

A: The Twister Fruit Picker® is designed to have the rope fastened to the bottom of your pole so that you can use two hands to gently and easily twist the fruit off the tree. This is critical. If you are trying to pull on the rope, the picker is assembled incorrectly. Refer to the instructions on this website or the ones that were included in the packaging for the proper method to attach the rope/bungee to your pole. It’s as Easy as 1-2-3.

Q: Will The Twister Fruit Picker® damage my tree or my fruit?

A: Absolutely not! The Twister Fruit Picker’s® slim profile and easy-to-operate fruit picking rings allow you to target individual fruit. With a little practice, you can pick one piece of fruit from a cluster of several without knocking any others to the ground. Because The Twister Fruit Picker® is designed so you can gently twist fruit off the tree with two hands, fruit damage or tree damage is not an issue.
